There are so many amazing aspects of being a photographer - especially a lifestyle photographer. I love capturing the beauty and newness of a newborn baby. I love capturing the laugh of a child that's missing their two front teeth. I love capturing the look on the groom's face as he sees his bride for the very first time. All of these moments bring me such immense joy, that it's really hard to put into words. But want to know my favorite part about being a photographer?
I love details. That detail in that one stone that is just a little more sparkly than the others in a wedding ring. The detail in the fibers of an athlete's pair of lucky socks. The detail in the bark of the tree that a lucky couple just got engaged under. Whatever the detail, you know I want to photograph it. Editorial photography gives me the freedom to capture as many details as I want - and that's exactly what I did with my good friend Michael Warner. Michael's an amazing athlete. Michael's whole session was such a joy to capture - mostly because he pays attention to every. single. detail of his sport. From his hydration to his protection, this editorial was unlike any editorial I've shot before. His attention to these details just makes his passion and his dedication that much more inspiring.
Now, I've chosen to show you a lot of photographs from his session. Mostly because I had an extremely hard time picking only a couple, but I have a feeling you'll like them as much as I do.
